Got A Gouging Complaint?

Pennsylvania's gas gouging law sets parameters for determining excessive prices following a disaster. An excessive price is defined as any fee that increases 20 percent or more than what it cost seven days prior to a disaster declaration. Price increases are permitted when the increase is due to additional costs. The state can also punish gas-gouging companies through a consumer protection law that makes gouging a civil offense, carrying a fine of $1,000 per offense.
